Xerography

Meaning of xerography is “dry writing”. Widely used for coping documents letters etc.

Most important part of the xerography is photo conducting. Photo conducting is in light...

In a photocopied drum or plate is made from very thin photo conductor. That is in the top of the metal substance sheet.

Positive charge is spread over the photo conducting using corona discharge. This is done in dark film is an insulator.

Uniform charge is exposure to the light from the image of the original document. The material becomes conducting like hole and charged disturbed. There for at electrostatic image produced.

Negative charged toner particles are spread. They stick with positive charges. Image of toner is transferred to paper charge by the corona wire.

The paper is heated. Then Polyethylene layer is melted and toner particles stick to the paper.

Excess toner will bush and excess charge on the film is disturbed or removed by the shining light.
