Dating early artifacts


As they unearth the remains of prehuman and human settlements, archaeologists and physical anthropologists face the additional problem of dating what they find. It is easy to determine the relative sequence in which events happened. More remains that are recent are usually found above older once. The problem lies in assigning a definite age to fossil bones, tools, an other remains.

Discovery of early humans in Africa



History tells the story of humankind. Because historians mostly use written records to gather information about the past, history is said to begin with the invention of writing about 5500 years ago. However, the story of humankind really begins in the time before people developed writing the period called prehistory.

Expansion of earth’s gardens



The farming revolution did not happen just once. It occurred several times in widely separated regions. More than 6000 years ago, farmers along the upper Huang He in present day China started planting millet. About 5000 years ago, farmers near the mouth of the Chang Jiang in southern china learned to grow rice. At roughly this same time, farmers along the Nile River in the northern part of Africa harvested their first crops of wheat and barley.

Cobra (Naja naja)

Belongs to the family elapidae. This species is well known and has rich cultural background. So is being considered as a flagship species. This specie is distributed in plains and mid hills of the country but not in the high mountain ranges. Two ‘eye like’ spots on the ventral aspect of the hood and spectacle like marking on the dorsal aspect of thehood are helpful in identifying. Venom is a neurotoxin and cause neuromuscular paralysis and rapid respiratory paralysis. It also cause severe local swallone and wound. This toxin can cause necrosis at any area. The toxin goes through the lymph.
